The Snow Geese Are Back!
Two weeks ago I saw just a pair of Snow Geese, early autumn arrivals along the Delaware Bay. Last week I saw the first small flock and today the Snow Geese are back in much larger numbers. Soon they will be on the Delmarva Peninsula by the tens of thousands spending the winter in our wetlands.

Isn’t this early for them? Maybe they know something we don’t know…like an early and cold winter???

I suspect you may be right at least about the early winter. My dogwoods and burning bushes have turned color much earlier this year than in others.
The Hummingbirds were late to arrive and early to leave. Saw my first Chickadee at my feeders yesterday and the Blue Jays are back begging for peanuts already.

Hi Andrew,
The Snow Geese will be here until almost the end of March. We have thousands of them. Canada Geese and a large assortment of ducks will be here when you visit.
Thanks, Kevin

Dear Kevin
Thank you for reply, yes we have Canada Geese land on fields behind my home near to the River Nene which flows through Northamptonshire to the Wash and out to the English Channel.
Regards Andrew
