Snow Before the Storm

Snow-Geese-+-clouds-1-29-10-D3S7602

Today’s weather forecast is calling for up to four inches of snow tonight and tomorrow but this morning just before sunrise the snow was already flying. Snow Geese, that is. The sun hadn’t broken the horizon yet but was lighting the low clouds when this flock started inland for a day of feeding on farm fields.

Hmmm, you may have answered a question here — I couldn’t figure out why the geese seemed to be “migrating” in flocks the last weekend I was in Delmarva — perhaps they were just feeding? You make a “feeding run” look ethereal!
