Cool Tool Bird
Meet the Brown-headed Nuthatch, one of the more interesting birds on Delmarva. The peninsula is the northernmost reach of its southeastern U.S. territory and they are year-round residents here. They are one of the few birds known to use tools like a piece of bark to pry up other tree bark to look for food.

My picture of that bird isn’t quite that good. Your years of experience and incredible gear make a huge difference. Really enjoyed being with you on Friday morning and Saturday’s presentation. The Deleware book is terrific and I am looking foreward to Delmarva.
I talked to my contact at Aberdeen Proving Ground (they really get their noses out of joint if you call it Grounds) this morning and he promised to make inquiry about getting you to Poole’s Island and calling me back. If they can’t work it out, I can take you in my boat and anchor just off shore.
