Wild Delmarva Book Select – Young Black-crowned Night Heron
It might be easy to confuse this juvenile Black-crowned Night Heron with an American Bittern. As an adult this bird will be gray with a black cap and back. But as a young heron the camouflage stripes on the throat look very similar to the bittern. I photographed this heron in August at Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge near Leipsic, Delaware.

Wild Delmarva on WBOC-TV – Red Foxes
Red foxes are one of my favorite subjects on the Delmarva Peninsula. Last year I was able to photograph several dens of Red Fox kits and there are six pages of foxes in Wild Delmarva.

Fire Control Tower – Wild Delmarva book select
Most sunrises are beautiful, some are spectacular like this morning last October. This was one of those mornings when I just couldn’t believe the color. The great light didn’t last long, by the time the sun came up the show was pretty much over. This is one of the WWII fire control towers in Cape Henlopen State park.
