Last year a family of Raccoons raised their babies in this tree fissure. Yesterday, this young Raccoon was trying out the same spot. Native in North America, Raccoons are common across the Delmarva peninsula.

learning to fly…

A Royal Tern chick, who is only about two weeks old, spreads its stubby, little downy-covered wings and leaps into the air trying to take flight. Soon feathers will replace the down and the the bird will be able to take to the skies over Delmarva.
